I dunno what was up with me this morning. It didn't last long, thankfully; I was all chipper by the time Puck got here.

Sharon gave me more numbers for clinics so I can get my uri done.. one of them is very near my house, so I suppose I can get that done tomorrow. My deadline was actually today, but whatever. They'll get over it.

Got an hour (and broadband)? Watch Necrocam.

One. More. Day. until a beautiful four-day weekend. (Wait. I just started work. What am I complaining about? heh.) No plans tomorrow night after work.. Thursday people will be coming in and out of the house all day.. Friday night I think Jason wants to go out.. Saturday we're all helping Puck move.. The usual meeting on Sunday.

I'll be so fucking glad when I get a paycheck and can actually go out without having to rely on other people's funding. My family has a lot of pride in being able to support ourselves; mine's taking a hit.

grr

I'm irritable as fuck today.

someone left their washing in the laundry room, but as there's no obvious organisation in there, I had no idea what's clean and what's not.

I got my drug test kit in from worldcom, and called the doctor's office on the form to schedule an appointment. after telling the receptionist three times, "I need to schedule a urinalysis", and having her not understand what I was getting at, she put the phone town for ten minutes and then hung up on me. Called back and got the same woman who this time said, "We don't do those anymore". I hung up.

Can't call work as there's not one single phone number in the new hire paperwork they gave me, and Cary (our trainer, for whom I have a direct number) isn't at work yet.

So.. I suppose I'll wait 'till I get to work later to talk to Sharon about it, provided she's there. If they give me beef about not getting the test done yet, well.. not my fucking problem. They sent it to the wrong address, first off, and told me to go to a doctor that doesn't do them anymore.

blah.

Been a few days since I've updated.. been running around a lot. In the good way, though.

Training's kind of dull, but it's been picking up now that we're doing more labs and meeting the rest of the people on the floor and that kind of thing.

Our friends Ian and Brady were in from Nashville from Thursday until this morning, which was cool. Friday after work, we (me, Guy, Louis, Patrik, and Jason) hung out with them and got thoroughly schnockered, which was glorious.

Yesterday morning I hung out with Patrik for awhile, then the same group plus Doug went to Golden India for lunch. Patrik and I went to his place to kill each other in Half-Life, then back here, where he, Jason and I experienced much snuggliness. Off to The Jungle we went. The bar kinda sucks.

Today I woke up to offerings of meso soup, and Puck and Guy made sushi. I gorged. We had a small rememberance thing for Harry Hay.

Now it's 5pm, and I'm prolly gonna have nappytime for a bit before everyone arrives for circle tonight. Shawnna says she's got some good info for us re: forming a 501-3(c)/4. Should be interesting.

buhbah

The Java interpreter that comes with OS X IE sucks flaming asshole.

Okay; so I didn't hold out. I have no willpower. If I am alive, I will try even harder to stay up and watch the Leonids when we pass through them next in 2099; I will be 130 years old.

Training today was kind of amusing.. lab consisted of all us newbies swearing at each other via TTY at the encouragement of our trainer.

I love my bed.

First day at MCI.. OOOOoooOooOoo. [livejournal.com profile] synapse, who told me of the job, and Puck are in my training class. Training seems like it's going to be fairly dull.. It doesn't appear that there's much information to cover, just lots of practice on the terminals to get the multitude of key combos down.

The peak of the meteor shower is tonight, but it's rather overcast out. Hopefully it'll be clearer/I'll be awake by 4am, heh. It's been awhile since I stayed up past 1am on a weekday purposefully.. Shall I hold out?

My previous eggshell-throwing was pointless, it seems.. as the other parties involved are super-cool with the way things are progressing.

It's nice to be close to people who communicate.

I honestly can't remember the last time I felt this good.

Everything has fallen into place. In the stretch of one week, I got a place in Memphis and a job.

I've got a circle of friends that grow more amazing as time passes.

Yesterday rocked. Woke up shortly after dawn... got up around 1pm. :P Then off to get treated to a spinach pizza. Came home to chill out for a little while and get the house ready for circle, which went well.

I've had hardly any time this past week to find the software we need. Damnit.

erm.. yeah. off to get ready for work (!) and all that jazz.

it's always interesting getting drunk with people who rock, no?

I can't count the number of times I had to backspace to cover up typing errors in that statement.

heeeee

I's be hura in memfruss.. updating from Louis' iMac. it's pretty sweet. still haven't gotten my computer schtick set up... donno when I'm gonna, as we're not moving his stuff out of my room until next week. they're gonna be gone all weekend, and he wants to be here when it's moved. I would too, so.. yeah.

been a spiffy weekend so far.. went and hung out at Patrik's tonight with all duh boyz.. 'twas groovy. stuck half-life in the ps2, got drunk and killed each other. always entertaining.

I haven't had any time at all for introversion/introspection/internalisation this week. y'know what? it fucking rocks. mmMHMmMMMmmm a self-break.

gonna have to be really careful regarding something, though.. don't wanna hurt any feelings. when you and another person have expressed mutual interest.. and someone you're aleady very close to has expressedinterest in that person as well... there's potential for something rockin.. or something painful. *tosses some eggshells in strategic locations*

I gotta the jobba.. I start on Monday.

moving tonight instead of tomorrow..

about to pack up the computer, so this is short.

change feels wierd no matter how many times it happens. it seems like every six months there's an upheaval. this is right on schedule.

Still in Memphis.. I'm updating from Puck's house.

I probably got the job I applied for yesterday.. above average on all the tests, relevant experience, bladda bladda. Just waiting to see if they call and ask me to come interview with the client directly.

Tested today at MCI for the "Communications Assistant" position... tested WAY above needed on everything, and she asked me to come back for the interview tomorrow. I'm sure I'll have the job.

Looks like I'm moving to Guy&Louis' on Friday...

it's The Week of Change.

bluebeard: holy crap, a face pic (Default)
I.. I.. can hem! Muahaha! Ripped clothing everywhere, fear m.. er.. yeah.

A temp agency person today told me she wouldn't hire me unless she was hard up. Bitch.

conclusions:

Ghost Ship and Phantasm 4 are both bad.

Semantics is annoying.

The majority of free, php-based message boards available for download I've found pay too much attention to message organisation, and not enough to actual features. And no, ridiculous graphic emoticons are not a feature. They're just annoying.

The job market in Covington continues to suck.

I have nothing positive to say at the moment, apparently.

I seem to have a working linux system again. Whee!

*dusts off "geek" pin*
