PETA is People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an animal rights group. They're against using animals in any way -- for food, fur, experiments, whatever.
Personally, I look forward to the deer steaks we're having for dinner this weekend.
Ah, we have similar.. the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), though they're not against the eating and use of them, just the cruelty bit.
