having never reacted to it before, I didn't realise poison oak had a few days' wait period. it's now all over my forearms, the backs of my hands, and I have a raccoon-mask rash. bleh. it's not as bad as it could be.. Mom gets blisters from it.

Speaking of Mom.. What'd you getdo for/whatever yours? Dad's driving me into town tomorrow while she's at work to pick something out. Later on in the day, I'm taking her out to dinner at the Rhine, an Italian place in Millington she loves.

I'm kind of surprised.. I thought it would be awkward coming back here, after not talking much for so long. But, she and I get along great.. we share a lot more of the same views on the world than I expected, and there's been several afternoons when we were supposed to be watching a movie, but conversation got in the way. I'm glad.

I love my momma. :)

I discovered the hard way that I'm at least mildly allergic to poison oak or ivy. While I was in Indiana, I got it so bad, it took over a month and a half to get rid of it. I had blisters the size of quarters in some places on my body and it scarred me nearly everywhere. Most of the scars are gone, but I can still see a few faint ones here and there, if I look for them. Even more unfortunate for me, we were having a problem with fleas in the house down there, at the time, and they kept finding their way into my bandages, so I scratched the hell out of myself while I was sleeping. It was a miserable, bed-ridden month for me. Yuck. YUCK.

I love my mommy, too. She doesn't want anything but money or gift certificates for CDs, this year, so that's all I'm getting her. Maybe some candy, but probably not. She and I are too much alike, sometimes. "I, uh, don't really want anything...I can't think of anything I need or want right now. Money's always good, though. Music, too." Heh.

Hah, I actually have the same combination going on. My parents' house has fleas from when they had a cat. They never got bitten (damn their body chemistry), so they never noticed the problem. My legs have the flea bites, poison oak on the rest. I've slept 1-3 hours every night this past week because of the itching. wheeeeeee

I never got it at all as a kid/teenager -- I could run around in patches of it all day and never get affected. I was always the one sent to retrieve lost toys, hehehe.

I *was* going to get Mom this perfume she likes, Night Magic. The store was out, though. :/
