Firstly:
I'm starting to get tired of my sweaters. Of course, when spring comes, I'll probably be tired of my shirts. Time for more regular trips to AmVets? You betcha.
Secondly:
I'm now doing repair at work. That's right, kids; if you send your iBook in to get repaired, I might well have my fingers in it's further deterioration. Muahahahaha.
I like it better than function, hardcore duh. Function was boring and repetitive. Repair is less boring, and still repetitive, but it repeats on an hourly basis instead of 10 minutes. Much more engaging.
The $2/hr raise is nice, too. Once I actually start getting paid the new rate, anyway. Anytime now, manager. Now would be great. Monday, give your HR people time to change my employment status in the machine? That would work, too. But get your ass on it.
Thirdly:
Looks like my time here at the Memphis Faerie house has come to an end.
That's right... I have news.
ink_ling and I confirmed an apartment this morning.
It's a two-bedroom, one bath, large kitchen, decent living room, screened-in porch, and one tiny bathroom that I am definitely going to overhaul because it sucks. The rest of the apartment is groovy, though, so.. we took it. Can't beat the rent; it's $550/month, so I'll be paying $275, only $25 more than I am now.
Perhaps the addition of the utilities bill will give me something to spend my money on other than drinking. heh.
We can't move in until March 1st, at the earliest; and on that date, he wants like $850 up front, which we should be able to pull no problem. (refer to above about pay increase. it needs to happen. now.)
Now begins the stripping of this place, and the acquisition of Things to fill up the new one with. It's a pretty big place, and it's gonna take a bit to make it less... empty. heh.
I screwed it up first, though it wasn't that big of a deal to the landlord. Given what happened last time I moved in with someone, I was afraid of getting an apartment with Jason; irrational fear that the same series of events would happen, even though he's not Paul, this ain't Portland, there's no drug addiction involved, blahblahblah. As a matter of fact, Jason and I have been together a year and a half now, almost, and without fighting, so I see no rational reason to fear the situation; I just have.
So anyway, when Jason was first talking to the landlord and needed to know from me whether to confirm absolutely or not, I panicked and told him no... don't get it. He relayed that to the landlord, and that night we got together to have a serious talk about all that, and basically ended up with me saying, obviously, to call dude back and see if we could re-secure the place, which he did, and we could, so we did, and now I'm writing about it. Ramble, much?
Let me talk about events or concrete concepts, and my writing is clear. Get me on my emotions, as above, and it becomes mishmash. Communication problems. Yay!
Fourthly:
If it goes as planned, then in March, I'll not only get the new apartment, I'll get a.. car! A 96 Cavalier, black, manual transmission, cd player. Woot. Now I have to get my driver's license and insurance.. which may mean getting glasses again. Spending money is fun!
Fifthly:
I have athlete's foot. Want some? I like to share.
