Over the weekend Louis packed a lot of stuff from his bedroom, and grabbed some of his furniture from the living room.

Those rooms feel very empty now. I compensated in the living room by moving all the plants in; that needed to happen anyway, it's too cold. It's good the missing furniture provided space for that, but...

*bang* nail on the coffin: seeing boxes packed full, tossing the furniture on the truck, makes the whole thing much more real.

I dont see it as a coffin - more like a new home :)

Oh yes, absolutely -- just an idiom, after all. The "coffin" is just living in Memphis; seeing the house get closer to being "done" and getting emptier, it's just like, wow -- reality strikes, I'm leaving Memphis, for another new city. Last time I left Memphis was very different, I could just up and move anytime, and it was all very sudden. This time it's like.. I dunno. It's been more years, more effort. Nothing I resent or feel a loss over, actually it's all been ultimately positive, but it's a more drawn out; it's the process of leaving, instead of before, where I just up and left.

Rabbit holes.
