Here is a conversation I've just had with a Yahoo! admin. I will offer interpretations in parentheses.

So's youse knows, the comment was "*tattoos 'joe's cock whore' on dav's face*". dav being someone I've talked to on yahoo for a couple years. in the same room. with much the same content. and worse things being said by the teenagers who also use that room. fuckheads.

Joe: hi, I'm told you're the one to contact about accounts that were deactivated through the games?
ygamesadmin: Not exactly. I am a Yahoo! Games Administrator. I monitor Yahoo! Game Rooms for violations of the Terms of Service.

Joe: Well, it looks like I might have been tagged for that, as I was booted out of Pool and now I can't login with my ID. I was talking to my friends, apparently what we were saying wasn't acceptable.
Joe: I've gotta have that ID, though -- I'm an owner/mod of a yahoo group our local community uses to communicate
Joe: it was this ID; I never signed out of messenger.
ygamesadmin: It appears that ID has been deactivated from violation of the Yahoo! Terms of Service.
ygamesadmin: Speceficly, adult content in a public area.

Joe: Well, sorry -- I was just joking with friends; I'm not entirely certain exactly which comment(s?) were violations, since nothing was said to me about the incident. Just bumped.
Joe: Is it possible to get it back? Like I said, I'm the owner/mod of a group, and the only one -- if the account is gone, the group cannot be maintained, there are no other mods listed
ygamesadmin: Yahoo! Game rooms are a 13 and up environment. The comment about a certain tattoo being placed on a certain body part was not exactly PG-13

ygamesadmin: You seem reasonable, so I will make a bargain with you

Joe: Not a problem.
ygamesadmin: I will however note, that if you violate the Yahoo! Terms of Service again, I will not be able to reactivate that account.

Joe: I will definitely keep that in mind.
ygamesadmin: If you want to have those sorts of talks with people, Yahoo! Chat has rooms just for that.
ygamesadmin: Your ID has been reinstated.

ygamesadmin: It is however still likely banned from the room for 24 hours
