Ever played Cosmic Encounter?

You should.

The housemates and I played the thing for three or four hours last night; talk about a time sucker. It's lots of fun. Think about Risk, but in space, territories can be cohabited, and you've got wierd powers and events like in Fluxx. It's an odd game.

You'll have to get it off eBay -- apparently it's not been in print since the late 70's. Doesn't look too horribly expensive though.

Get the set with the expansion packs. I haven't played it, since Louis has the version right before it. The version with the expansion packs though allows for more configurations of players, and has more races and events and whatnot.
