it's contextual :P... it's a "fiddle" when you're playing traditional american and european rhythm-based music.. but it's a "violin" when you're playing classical.

sometimes fiddlers will modify the bridge, as well, to make it easier to do chords, but supposedly that's not neccesarily. I suppose we'll find out in the next couple weeks.
