I guess responding to somebody's post in a community about menstruation is probably not something a non-OBGYN, male-bodied person is welcome to do, but when somebody's being THAT stupid, they really need to be told they are.

I wonder if she's Christian Science. I grew up that way and the programming is deep. If you are in pain or have a disease, you are in error. If you are in error, you have sinned. I never saw a doctor or had insurnace until I became an adult.

No telling, I didn't see any mention on her profile or whatever.

I recognize the attitude, though, of her mother -- my mom didn't consider us "sick" unless we were vomiting, so no doctor, meds, anything unless we were hunkered over the toilet. She also didn't have any concept of contagion, so off to school we went, with any number of illnesses. fun times.

Once she got less afraid of the written word, though, we got her to read a few things, and all that changed.

Well, she mentioned that she couldn't go and see her pediatrician because she was too old.
