We're about to have an ice storm!

I'm making brownies for the Saturnalia party tonight!

Work is very slow today!

It's cold in my office!

I'm really hopped up on sugar from the chocolates Frances handed out for Christmas! I'm gonna lay off on them now!

!!!!!!111!!1!1one!!11!!1onewon!!!

What up, weirdo! Remember to call me with what you need from the store for the brownies. Heard any more about the when and wherewithal of that slickstorm?

nothing's up, the sugar rush has passed. :P

the storm? no clue. You said the library was closing, so I've been watching weather.com; they can't decide whether it's raining, snowing, or icing right now -- the animated map just kinda blips back and forth.

What they are sure of is that there's a huge mass of wet clouds hanging over the city, and there's more to come. What'll fall out of it is anybody's guess, but there will be ice on the ground tomorrow morning, I bet.

Let it fall on our heads! I am ready!

Even though they're letting us out of work early today, guarantee tomorrow they'll be open at regular time in the morning -- even if there's 20 inches of ice on the ground -- telling us we need to get here if we can.

Oh well, leaving early is nice. And I'll still hope on a late start tomorrow ... even against all odds!

What exactly is Saturnalia? I know what a Saturn-return is, and I know what Yule is.. ;)

Here's a wikipedia entry on Saturnalia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturnalia).

In short: eat a lot, get intoxicated.

When we were deciding what to do for winter, Louis, being the Roman reconstructionist he is, wanted Saturnalia. So that's what we called it. I somehow doubt we'll be following any of the traditions surrounding it or anything; we just wanted a winter holiday of our own, heh.

Hooray for indulgence! Thanks for the link, btw. Sounds like a good holiday to me. Very hedonistic. ;)
