a very long two days,.
Apr. 11th, 2002 05:19 amwhat an.. interesting weekend (I'm off tue-wed).. and in the good way, even. ;)
couldn't sleep most of sunday night.. ended up finally sleeping from 9a-noon, and heading off to work. Despite being Yet Another Shitty Monday, and on so little sleep, I dealt really, really well. I was able to talk down all my angry customers (instead of just hanging up on them when it got to a certain level of difficulty) and I left work in a good mood.
Slept really well Monday night, and woke up at 10:30a Tuesday, on my own, two hours before the alarm was set to go off. I woke up completely un-groggy and feeling refreshed. It was both rare and really nice.
Paul had gotten home just as I was waking up, so we hung out for a little bit, then he left to go pick up Adrian and head off to the coast. I farted around online for a little while, went and got lunch, and then around 4 I decided to take a nap.
Woke up at 8, got back online.. and suddenly I find myself talking to the aforementioned Nic, whom I hadn't spoken to in forever and a day. He stopped by to say hello (first time meeting this person I'd known online for three years). and we ended up gabbing for two hours, then he had to leave so he could sleep enough to go to school at 8a.
Got back online, chatted with
dannahmal for awhile about Life and got to talk about things I haven't really been able to otherwise. I was glad to be able to put my situation into words.. makes things much easier to handle when you have a basic statement to work with. Thank you again, Dannah...
Finished our game of Literati, and went to bed.. and promptly stayed wide awake. Not in a tense way though.. it was wierd. I stayed completely relaxed.
Paul came home about 9a.. hung out for awhile, then I showered and dressed and we headed off for the coast. We went to Hug Beach, a little secluded spot like 15 minutes south of Seaside.. other people were there, but they'd only stay for a few minutes and then leave. We wandered around for awhile, and then drove back up to Seaside to grab lunch while we waited for the tide to go out.. We got back to Hug about 45 minutes before the tide was low enough to go anywhere.. so we wandered some more, clambered around on some rocks, and gabbed a lot.
The tide finally went down enough to go around the corner.. and we found something really neat. Another beach, all by itself, with no driveway down to it or anything.. In the middle of the beach was a really big waterfal being fed by a really lush creek.. to either side of the waterfall were a number of caves, and we spent a lot of time exploring those and staring at the animals on the cave walls.
At the other end of that beach, the cliff had been blasted into to make a little road.. We followed that up to discover we had made it all the way up to Arcadia Beach, which is a bit up the road from Hug Beach.. we had walked a long way..
It started to get late, so we decided it was time to go.. we definitely want to go back there, and take people next time. That place rocked. We went back up to Seaside to grab another meal (by this time we had been on the beaches for almost eight hours) and headed back to Portland.. I was exhausted and slept on the way back, waking up just in time to pull into our driveway.
We both decided we needed to lay down and rest for awhile.. so we lay down together and just stayed quiet for an hour.. I had missed that... sleeping next to someone..
Got up again, and Paul left to go spend the night at Josh's... I ended up having.. a very.. relaxing... evening. >:) *whistle*
and.. here I am now. A little hungry, definitely exhausted out of my mind.. but this weekend was totally, completely worth it. It's been the mental vacation I've been needing.. and I feel much, much, much better.
yay. :)
(oh.. and.. when we got home from the beach, I looked in the mirror.. my psoriasis is gone. :))
