After Wednesday, things went better. Work was just particularly annoying this week, and Jason being in the hospital didn't help.

As for work.. hrm. I went into the job thinking, "Hey, a needed service, this might be neat." Now I'm thinking, "Jesus fucking christ, the public treats deaf people like shit, for no reason at all" and end up leaving work pissed off every day. Before I started this job, with my limited previous contact with the deaf community, I knew it sucks for them at times; working at this place though, I come to a more full realisation.. it's sometimes impossible for them to even call a store and ask if they have a product, because the hearing person is so fucking afraid of the relay call process, and they're kind of put off simply by the fact that it's a deaf person. The ones who aren't afraid of it and give it a try, most often seem to be doing it out of pity, which is just as shitty. It's just a goddamn phone call, but I guess it's too complicated for most people to understand, or else they think they have to at least pretend to understand, or be thought to be an asshole.

My day? Nope! [update 09/02]what that fuck is that?

Jason and I got up around noon, after a nice restful sleep. We went to Young Avenue Deli for lunch, then he went home to take care of some stuff. I proceeded to do laundry and try to figure out why this linux kernel I've been trying to compile won't boot.

After a bit I decided I wanted to go outside, so I was gonna go over to my bank and deposit my paycheck.. and discovered I've lost it. So, I figured on Monday I'll just talk to my manager and HR and have them put a stop-payment on that one and issue another. No big deal.

Then.. I got the bright idea to try to stick an extra DIMM Louis has in my machine. After doing so, my system will no longer boot at all. No POST, no nothing. Just a dead machine. So, I ordered more DIMMs to see if maybe I just killed the others somehow.

Hopefully, both issues will be fixed with the first thing I'm trying on both of them. If not.. I will be just slightly irritated.
