Jul. 15th, 2002 11:05 pmFriday was pretty average; nothing outstanding to speak of, really. Saturday, however, was pretty keen.
That afternoon, Patrik and I went over to Elmwood Cemetery to have lunch and wander awhile. It's an interesting place. Two of the buildings we couldn't figure out.. The first was a family vault, mostly buried. The only things left aboveground were a pipe for ventilation, and the peak of the front of the roof, with a little of the door exposed. My theory is that the entire front was once open, and when all the apartments in this glorious ground-floor condominimum were filled, they buried the place. I have no idea why they'd do that though..
The second was even stranger.. every wall had been covered with a layer of cement, including the nameplate, and seemingly in a rush. Only the vent and part of the padlock were left uncovered. No idea why they'd do that one either.. some family's dirty secret or something. *shrug* If it were disease, they'd've burned the body instead of burying it.
Later on, a thunderstorm knocked out two fuses at Patrik's place, and fried his and Nathan's (his new roommate) modems. Whee.
